Reefertilizer® Start Soil Conditioner

Organic Soil Conditioner With Mycorrhizae Crafted For Cannabis

Our Reefertilizer™ Start formula contains 100% organic and natural ingredients to help promote strong and healthy root growth in clones and young seedlings.

Our soil conditioner contains two simple organic ingredients: Organic kelp granules and Mycorrizal spores.

Adding this mixture to your soil or soiless mediums will add to and feed the micro organisms living in your soil. A healthy living soil will be able to better support your plants’ ability to uptake water and nutrients.

Providing these essential elements early on will help your plants establish a strong root zone as quickly as possible.

We source the highest quality organic myco and compost from respected Canadian suppliers.

What Is Reefertilizer Start Made From?

Reefertilizer Start Cannabis Soil Conditioner Has Only Two Ingredients.
Organic Kelp Granules & Organic Mycorrizal Spores

What are kelp granules?

Our organic kelp granules are derived from the natural fermentation process of cold water brown seaweed. Brown sea kelp is a fast-growing plant and can double in size in 2 weeks. Because of its fast growth rate, it is considered a very renewable source of compost material. The plant matter is nutrient-rich and provides an amazing organic compost and is well known for its use with cannabis plants.

What are Mycorrhizal spores?

Mycorrhizae (sometimes called myco) refers to a symbiotic relationship between a fungus and a plant. This fungus grows around root systems greatly expanding their ability to absorb water and nutrients from the soil. In return, the plant will supply the fungus with sugars.

How To Use Reefertilizer Start To Get The Most Out Of Your Plants

Reefertilizer Start Cannabis Soil Conditioner Can Be Used Three Ways.
An Amendment To Starter Soil, Inoculant For Transplants, & A Top Dressing

Cannabis Starter Soil Amendment For Seeds and Clones

Our Start kelp and myco mixture is designed for young seedlings and clones. We recommend this method because it gives the most benefits early on in the plant’s growth cycle.
By starting your plants off in this soil mixture, you will be speeding up root growth and providing your young plants with a small dose of organic nutrients to get them started off right.

Here’s Our Recipe For a Fantastic Starter Soil
  • 2 Parts – Potting Soil
(Most store brands will work. Visit your local garden center and look for a vegetable mix)
  • 2 Parts – Manure or Compost
(Sheep, cow, or horse manure all do well. Well-decomposed garden compost is also great. Both are full of nutrients and beneficial bacteria.)
  • 1 Part – Perlite
(Helps retain moisture and enhance soil structure)
  • 3 Scoops of Start for every 4L of soil
(Mycorrhizal spores improve root performance and kelp meal to help feed your soil bacteria and young plants.)

Mix these ingredients well and add a little bit of water making it slightly moist.

Cannabis Root Zone Mycorrhizae Inoculant

Mycorrhizae works by growing with the root system and improving its ability to absorb water and nutrients.

By sprinkling several scoops of Start to the root zone of a transplant, you’re making sure the myco is right there to grow with the roots in the new soil.

Top Soil Dressing For Cannabis

Start can also be used as a top dressing. Sprinkle 4 scoops around the base of your plant before watering.
The organic nutrients will slowly breakdown while the mycorrhizae will move through the soil and inoculate the root system.

This option is great for people who grow autoflowering cannabis and avoid transplanting.

What makes Reefertilizer Start different than other soil conditioners?

Our products are designed for cannabis and for ease of use. Start can be added to any type of soil or soilless growing mediums making it more versatile than other products. Many premium potting soils contain small amounts of myco spread out through the medium, roots need to find their way to a myco spore before they can inoculate themselves. By using start as a starter soil, your plants’ roots are inoculated sooner, resulting in faster growth.

Give it a try yourself and see why our customers love using start with their seedlings and clones.

I used the Start, following the directions to the letter on a Bakerstreet Indica seedling immediately after the very successful germination. Something has gone wrong as the seedling is now 22 days old and appears to be stunted. I’m Trying to nurse it back to health but it should be a lot bigger. The Cotyledons weren’t right from the start but I’ve managed to keep it going. The leaves are a good colour and the stalk looks good. I don’t know what went wrong with this one but I’ll keep it going. I’ve provided a picture for your assessment.
