Growing cannabis can take a lot of equipment, especially if you’re growing indoors. You’re going to need grow lights, a way to control the humidity in your grow room, the grow room itself, soil, nutrients, ventilation, a carbon filter, and of course cannabis seeds. If you have all of those, you’ll most likely have a successful growing experience.
However, if you have the extra dollars to spend and want to make your life a bit easier, you can invest in some of the following accessories:
Water globes
These are handy devices with a bulb on one end and a long stem on the other. All you have to do is fill the bulb with water and then push the stem into the soil. Depending on which product you buy, the globe can continue to gradually water your plants for up to four days! This is a great product if you’re going out of town for the weekend and don’t want to impose on a friend to water your plants.
Pen pH meter
You need a pH meter of some kind to make sure your plants are getting what they need. A small, mobile one like this one is easy to move around between plants and can get the job done just as well as the alternatives.
Drying Rack
After you harvest your cannabis, you’ll need to dry it out so that you can start curing it properly. It’s important that you spread your buds out as much as possible to make sure they all dry evenly, but that can take up a lot of space. Solutions like this expandable drying rack will give your plants plenty of room to dry without filling up your closet.
Eye protection
This is more essential than other items on this list because lights that put out the spectrum your plants need can be damaging to the eye. Glasses like these protect against both LED and HPS lights.
Digital Microscope
To know when it’s the right time to harvest, you’ll need to check out the developments of your plants’ trichomes. One of the simplest ways to do that is with a digital microscope, like this USB microscope.
Plant yo–yo
Plant yo-yos are devices that connect to the ceiling of your grow room or grow tent. Inside, they have a spring-tightened spool of wire with a hook on one end. If your colas grow so heavy that they start to droop, just hook one of the hooks underneath the cola’s stem. Then, the plant yo-yo will support it, and can easily be gradually retracted as the plant continues to grow.
